Company
Bedford Biofuels is a socially and environmentally responsible oil company. Founded in 2008 by President and CEO David McClure, Bedford now has offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, Canada; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Lusaka, Zambia; and Nairobi, Kenya to facilitate and fund its biofuel operations in Africa. The company will be growing Jatropha, also known as the “diesel plant.” Jatropha is an oil-bearing, sub-tropical, drought resistant shrub capable of growing in challenging environments. When grown in the right climate, Jatropha produces non-edible nuts high in oil. Crude Jatropha Oil (CJO) can be used as a drop-in replacement for diesel, which means no engine modification is required to use CJO. Jatropha has also tested successfully for use in aviation.
Bedford Biofuels has created an investment opportunity that is uniquely poised to address the global shortage of clean fuel and energy while reaching beyond the scope of simple monetary gains and into the realm of environmental and humanitarian contributions.
